What does it mean to be board certified?

At Houston Brain Center, Dr. Lorrianne Morrow, LPC-S, BCN, is Board Certified in Neurofeedback through Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). Did you know that Texas does not require practitioners to be board certified? BCIA serves as the leading organization in the United States and globally for certifying professionals in neurofeedback.

To achieve Board Certification in Neurofeedback through BCIA, licensed clinicians must:

  • Successfully complete coursework in neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, or physiological psychology, gaining a deep understanding of brain function. These courses must be taken from a regionally accredited academic institution or through a BCIA-approved provider.

  • Hours of mentorship and 100’s of neurofeedback sessions conducted with clients, involving preparation and running full sessions.

  • Pass a comprehensive certification exam to demonstrate mastery of neurofeedback knowledge.

Dr. Lorrianne Morrow has gone above and beyond for this training to ensure she provides all patients with the highest level of expertise. Her dedication supports individuals in achieving improved mental wellness at the Houston Brain Center.
